Our supporters ensure that our organization will grow and continue to work towards the preservation of Chumash and Indigenous culture and values, to restore and protect our sacred lands, coasts, and waterways, and to serve the needs of our communities. We hope to inspire people to connect to the natural world, cultivate a relationship and sense of responsibility for our earth that sustains us all.
Whether we are educating youth about Chumash culture and marine science, pushing back against polluters with our legal team, supporting advocacy for our ancestral lands, water and species, rematriating the land and recalibrating our relationship with her, or bringing the language back to our community - we continue to be inspired through ceremony, and ancestral knowledge, giving us a pathway to do the work we do for our community and future generations.

Native-led organizations are historically and continually underrepresented and underfunded, receiving just 0.23% of philanthropic giving. It’s time to recognize that Native communities have the solutions to the issues we are facing. It’s time to center Native voices to advocate against systemic funding inequities.
